Preventative Services

Believe it or not, dental cleanings and check-ups are the most important procedures we do in dentistry today. Preventing problems before they occur is at the forefront of modern dentistry. Removing calculus or tartar before gum disease occurs is the most important part of a Dental Hygienist’s job.

Once plaque calcifies on the teeth the only way to remove it is to have a Dentist or Dental Hygienist remove it with ultrasonic or hand scalers. Catching cavities when they are small prevents time consuming and costly dental procedures.

Maintaining healthy teeth and gums has been proven to promote an overall healthy life. Gum disease has been linked to heart disease, low birth weight and diabetes.
